Founder and CEO of the Africa Leadership Transformation (ALT) Foundation, Daniel is the first fully certified practitioner of The Map of Meaning® in Africa.
ALT conducts leadership training in partnership with African universities such as the Kwame Nkurumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in South Africa and University of Zambia (UNZA) among others. Over 500 Leadership trainees have been introduced to The Map of Meaning®.
A pan-Africanist from Kenya based in South Africa, Daniel is a Trustee of the One Africa Initiative (https://oneafricainitiatives.org) and Editor-in-Chief of the OAI Journal. He has led numerous projects in Africa’s private sector (media, telecoms & financial services) as well as the development sector (micro-finance and agriculture).
Daniel was also part of the team that expanded PRIDE Africa’s micro-finance activities within Kenya and the East Africa region, consulted for Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) and consulted in the setting up the African Stock Exchanges Association (ASEA).
He co-founded Africa Harvest, an African NGO registered as a 501(c)3 foundation in the USA and was part of the team that developed an US$20-million agricultural initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
He also worked for Liberty (South Africa) and World Stream/Econet Wireless International (South Africa), represented Africa on the global biotech industry’s Plant Biotech Strategy Council and headed the CropLife International projects in Africa.
Daniel was co-editor of "Biotechnology in Africa: Emergency, Initiatives and the Future" and the second edition of my book "Make a Plan or Get Lost: Personal Planning for Your Twenties," has recently been released.
The ALT vision is that of an Africa that works for everyone and the mission to create 1 million leaders in 10 African countries by 2050 and Daniel is passionate about bringing all this experience, expertise and the networks to create an Africa that works for everyone.
He has an MBA from Durham University in the UK and two other degrees – in Communication and Economics – from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
